Our story
Knowledge, service and a full warehouse.
Galvins began in 1968, when the Galvin family opened their first off-licence in Cork city centre. The family’s ties to Bandon Road go back further still: 37 Bandon Road was once a pub owned by the Galvins.
Over the decades the family has run off-licences around Cork, built a wholesale and trade supply business, and gathered real knowledge of beers, wines and spirits, along with a level of customer service we’re proud of.
We stock a full range of packaged beer, cider, wine and spirits, as well as kegs, and we have long championed Irish producers: Irish craft beer and cider, small-batch spirits and Irish whiskey sit alongside the brands everyone knows.
Today Galvins runs a cash & carry and wholesale business at the rear of 37 Bandon Road, serving the trade and the public, plus off-licences on Bandon Road and in Carrigaline. In 2022 our Carrigaline shop was named National Off-Licence of the Year by the National Off-Licence Association (NOffLA).
