Teacher’s single malt comes from the Ardmore distillery founded by the Teachers family themselves back in 1898. It is the last Highland distillery to still fully peat it’s malted barley giving it a rich complex taste. But the secret of its depth of character comes from the secondary maturation the whisky enjoys in tiny ‘Quarter Casks’.These barrels were common over a century ago, but are rarely found these days. The additional contact with the oak creates a deep powerful flavour profile with an extraordinary long finish.
Nose: A full bodied smooth aroma with a spicy creamy nose
Body: Full and rich but with a subtle gentleness.
Taste: Full rich flavours burst and fill the mouth a creamy peat tang and a touch of vanilla’s soft gentleness.
Finish: Full, succulent and quite long.
